The Florence airport (FLR) is called Amerigo Vespucci and it is the only airport in Florence, Italy. The florentine airport is located in Peretola in the northern Florence (Firenza Nord).

From/To the airport by car
The airport can be reached by car from the center of Florence following the direction to Firenze Nord (Novoli) and then driving along Viale Guidoni up to the entrance of the superhighway (A1 and A11). Being very close to the highway, the airport can be easily reached from the main cities of Italy.
From/To the airport by bus
The airport also has good connections to the city center also by the Sita/Ataf service "Fly by Bus" going between the airport and the Santa Maria Novella railway station of Florence. Several car rental agencies operate at the arrival terminal of the Florence airport.
The "vola in bus" ("Fly by Bus") buses leave every hour and take about 20 minutes to go between the airport and the Florence center.
From/To the airport by taxi
A taxi station is located at the arrival terminal of the airport but taxies can be called by radio taxi phone (+39 055 4242 / 4390 / 4499 / 4798).
The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and the average price is 15 euro.

The departure terminal has 23 check-in desks opening at 5 am, the ticket office opens from 6 am to 7 pm. The lost and Found office is open from 8.30 am to 8 pm, it manages the baggage procedures and it is located at the back side of the arrival terminal.
The airport of Florence was built in 1932. Now it is managed by the AdF S.p.a. company and in 2006 it was renewed increasing its efficiency and security.
